Healthy RC Honors Community Members Service
Recognizing Rancho Cucamonga Citizens Committed to Serving
Healthy RC has celebrated many successes since 2008, due in large part to the dedication and commitment of the community members who give their valuable time, effort, and expertise. Members of the Healthy RC Steering Committee dedicated thousands of hours to improving the health of Rancho Cucamonga's residents. These community partners are instrumental in the completion of the most recent Strategic Plan, establishment of policies, and implementation of various programs. Healthy RC proudly honored three community members with Outstanding Leadership Awards. These individuals were selected for their work in the 2016 calendar year focusing on the goals and strategies of Healthy RC. The following community members were recognized at the Healthy RC End of Year Celebration on December 5, 2016:
Teresa González, Campeones Para La Comunidad
Teresa has been a part of the Campeones Para La Comunidad (Community Champions) since 2010, conducting neighborhood and farmers' markets assessments, community outreach and education to develop a plan to improve walking and biking in the City, and helping create and launch Healthy RC's mental health awareness campaign in 2016.
Barbara Marino, Women on the Move Network
As a founding member of Healthy RC, Barbara has served on almost every subcommittee and worked on a multitude of strategies. Most recently, she served as an integral part of the Healthy RC Evaluation Plan, mental health awareness campaign, and the Compassionate Community Movement.
Monet Wion, Healthy RC Youth Leaders
