ReadyRC Celebrates September as National Preparedness Month

You can't avoid disaster, but we can help you prepare for it.

National Preparedness month join us

Did you know that September is recognized as National Preparedness Month to encourage you to be prepared before disaster strikes? This year's theme, "Disasters Don't Plan Ahead. You Can.", stresses the importance of taking action to prepare NOW! The Fire District's ReadyRC program offers all the resources you need to get a kit, make a plan and be informed should a disaster strike.

Join us on Saturday, September 16th at Honeyville Farms for the 5th Annual Emergency Preparedness Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Honeyville, a retail store specializing in long term food storage and emergency preparedness supplies, has partnered with the Fire District to host this event at their Rancho Cucamonga store, located at 9175 Milliken Ave. Numerous exhibitors, including Red Cross, Home Depot, PetSmart and more, will provide information on preparedness and self-reliance topics. cert Honeyville Farms will also offer in-store demonstrations, food samples and classes on topics such as water storage, purification, and cooking without power. Looking for hands-on training to build more disaster preparation skills? The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training course prepares you, your family and your neighborhood for any emergency. The CERT Basic series is taught over the course of a weekend and offered twice a year - all for FREE! Learn the basics of the emergency response system, fire safety and utility controls, basic first aid as well as search and rescue plus lots more!
